Installing Fedora 7 on Asus A8TC

This laptop is operating under Kernel version 2.6.21 ( x86_64 )

Basic Installation of Fedora 7:

Download Fedora 7 DVD ISO file to a FAT or ext2/ext3 partition.
Mount the ISO file. Copy vmlinuz and initrd.img from isolinux directory to your file system.
Boot laptop with the vmlinux and initrd.img. (Use your current linux boot loader or Grub for DOS).
Install system.

Setting up xorg for nVidia GeForce Go 7300:

Download nVidia graphics driver of GeForce 7 series for Linux x64. (I installed Fedora for x86_64 !)
Make sure that necessary kernel headers are installed. (yum install kernel-headers kernel-devel)
Switch to console mode. (init 3)
Run the downloaded binary file. (chmod 0755 NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-xxx.run; sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-xxx.run)
Select all default settings during driver installation. It will compiling proper driver module and configure xorg.conf.
Swith back to graphic mode (init 5). The nVidia logo will be displayed.

Setting up wireless network:

Setting up sound card:

No sound after Fedora 7 installation. Players can play media files, but no sound output.
Add line "options snd-hda-intel index=0 model=asus-dig" into /etc/modules.conf
Reboot. The sound card should work properly now.
